COVID-19 Response

The COVID-19 public health emergency is an urgent threat to extremely vulnerable populations, including people experiencing homelessness and those who are now living in permanent supportive housing.
As you take steps to protect yourself, your loved ones and your community during this crisis, we hope you will also join us in taking action to protect the health and safety of unsheltered individuals and those living in homeless shelters and permanent supportive housing across Massachusetts.
Taking steps to reduce transmission among these vulnerable populations will save lives and protect the health of our communities. Thank you for your support.

How you can help

1. Support MHSA member agencies who are on the frontlines of this crisis.

a. Homeless service providers are working tirelessly with limited resources to protect the health of those they serve. Please support their critical work; you can visit our Member Directory to see a full list of MHSA member agencies across Massachusetts.

b. You can also volunteer or provide relief support as a member of their staff. Visit our COVID-19 Volunteer Opportunities Page for more information about MHSA member agencies who are looking for volunteers and staff.

2. Donate to MHSA. MHSA is working with the state and local communities across Massachusetts to create shelter, quarantine and isolation spaces for people experiencing homelessness and those in shared living environments who are unable to safely practice social distancing. We remain committed to advancing innovative solutions to homelessness – we know that when this immediate emergency is over, it will be more important than ever that we focus on housing responses to end homelessness. The health of our communities depends on it.
