The Bureau of Substance Addiction Services is seeking a Housing and Homeless Services Director

The Bureau of Substance Addiction Services (BSAS) at the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) is seeking a mission-driven, strategic professional to support and provide guidance to communities and funded programs working to address housing and housing stabilization as a Social Determinant of Health—within the context of substance addiction, treatment, intervention, and recovery.  The Homeless and Housing Services Director informs and facilitates development across service delivery systems at BSAS as well as other DPH bureaus and other state agencies.

With support and supervision from the Deputy Bureau Director for Operations, this position is instrumental in developing robust community services by providing oversight and guidance to BSAS funded vendors. The selected candidate manages all contracts for BSAS specific to homelessness and housing services, including the management and ongoing implementation of the Sober Housing Certification process, as well as the implementation of HUD-funded contracts with vendors across the state. To ensure success of the Homeless and Housing Services Unit, the Director provides leadership, guidance and supervision to two staff. In addition, the Director develops and drafts project descriptions for grant applications, in collaboration with the Assistant Director for Grants Policy and Administration, and may direct the workflow of grant-funded positions as appropriate.
