DECEMBER 2006
Black Nativity Opening Night Benefit Performance – December 1, 2006

Each year at the start of the holiday season, MHSA sells tickets to Langston Hughes’ inspiring gospel song-play, Black Nativity. There are many Christmas performances but none may be as inspirational or exhilarating as Black Nativity. A mixture of scripture, verse, music and dance that tells the Christmas story, Black Nativity continues to be a joyous and uplifting experience for everyone. Black Nativity has been performed continuously in Boston since 1969 and remains the world’s longest running performance of this special work by Harlem Renaissance poet Langston Hughes.

This year, MHSA sold over 200 tickets to this special event to MHSA members and friends and offered a special Black Nativity cast recording CD with the purchase of Angels or Wise Persons seating and sponsorships.  For more information on supporting MHSA through Black Nativity, contact Erin Donohue at 617.367.6447 ext. 25 or edonohue@mhsa.net.
