On Tuesday, April 5, MHSA members, donors, faith community supporters and young professionals gathered at Lir Irish Pub & Restaurant for a reception with Neil Donovan, executive director of the National Coalition for the Homeless (NCH). Donovan has worked with and for persons experiencing homelessness for the past 27 years, in varying positions from direct service to advocacy to chief executive. NCH is a national advocacy organization committed to creating the changes necessary to prevent and end homelessness.
Donovan spoke about the national agenda to end homelessness. He described homelessness as evolving in cycles that include responding to the problem, building programs and then reevaluating those programs to ensure that the desired goals are achieved.
