FALL 2009
Boston and Metro Boston Faith-Based Advisory Councils to End Homelessness
Social Action Ministries works with the Boston and Metro Boston Regional Networks to engage faith communities
In July 2009, The Paul and Phyllis Fireman Charitable Foundation, One Family, Inc. and Episcopal City Mission awarded a regional faith-based action grant to Social Action Ministries and the Boston Network of the Interagency Council on Housing and Homelessness (ICHH). The goal of the grant is to support collaboration among the Boston Network and faith-based groups in efforts to end homelessness in the Boston region.

To facilitate this collaboration, Social Action Ministries and the Boston Network have convened the Boston Faith-Based Advisory Council to End Homelessness.
A similar grant was awarded to Cooperative Metropolitan Ministries to fund the Metro Boston Faith-Based Advisory Council to End Homelessness. Alex Kern of Cooperative Metropolitan Ministries and Caitlin Golden of Social Action Ministries co-chair the Metro Boston Faith-Based Advisory Council.
Faith-based organizations and all those interested in engaging faith communities in ending homelessness are invited to participate in either or both advisory councils. For more information about how to get involved, please contact Caitlin Golden at cgolden@mhsa.net or 617-367-6447 ext. 28.
